Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the third-party company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its own results. Graham County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us may be kept as needed to answer it. Messages remain within the organization unless disclosure is required by a valid legal obligation.
Data We Gather Automatically

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Graham County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Graham County Sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or dossiers about other people, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Outside companies power the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by the provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider decides how long it keeps data and when it shares data. Review those terms before running a query.

Links may lead to the Graham County government, North Carolina eCourts Portal, the SBI, other public agencies, legal resources, or outside search services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy terms govern. Read them before supplying personal data.
Advertising providers may measure activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs on their systems, under their own policies.

Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it

Users Under 18
This service is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If information from a minor is identified, a deletion request may be made.
Your Data Rights
Rights can depend on where a visitor lives and which law applies. North Carolina's Public Records Law, Chapter 132, governs access to records held by public agencies, not private-site visitor data. N.C.G.S. §14-208.10 governs public access to specified registry information. Those laws do not convert this private site into a government records custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
