Terms of Use

These conditions govern every use of Graham County Criminal History. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a query through an embedded search tool indicates acceptance of the terms below. Anyone who does not agree should stop using the website.

NO FCRA USE. This privately run website has no affiliation with a local, state, or federal agency. Neither it nor its advertising partners offers a service for credit, employment, insurance, tenant, or other decisions regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). Its purpose is to route readers to criminal-record resources for Graham County, North Carolina. It is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site operated independently of government. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records for a visitor, perform an official check, or submit government forms.

Its content identifies custodians such as the Graham County Sheriff, Clerk of Superior Court, North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Some pages also connect visitors with optional third-party research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

You agree that you will not:

  • Do anything that slows the site down or blocks other people from using it
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scrapers against these pages
  • Attempt unauthorized access to any site system
  • Use information to stalk, threaten, or harass another person
  • Use the site in violation of federal, North Carolina, or local law
  • Rely on site content for hiring, housing, lending, or insurance decisions

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

Information found here or through a linked tool may not be used to harass, stalk, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Misconduct may also violate criminal law. North Carolina registry information is provided for public-safety awareness under Article 27A and N.C.G.S. §14-208.10. It is not a license for vigilante acts, blacklisting, or unlawful discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Graham County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It creates no background checks, credit reports, or consumer reports. Its advertising partners are not presented as providers for regulated screening. Data from this site or a linked tool may not be used to:

  • Do anything else that falls under FCRA rules
  • Set insurance terms or assess creditworthiness
  • Evaluate housing or rental applicants
  • Make hiring or firing decisions
  • Determine eligibility for licenses, benefits, or permits

A regulated background check must come from an authorized official channel or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Site content is not legal advice. General explanations of Graham County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or expunction statute applies to one person. A licensed North Carolina attorney should answer those questions.

6. No Warranties

All content and services are supplied "as is." There is no guarantee that:

  • Results from our partner search tools will be thorough or accurate
  • Pages are free from bugs, errors, or security flaws
  • The service will remain available without interruption
  • Published information is complete, accurate, or current

Criminal records can change when charges are filed, dismissed, restricted, or expunged. Gaps and delays are possible. Nothing published here is an official statement by the Graham County Clerk, Sheriff, North Carolina SBI, or any other public office.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

Links may lead to government offices, court portals, state agencies, legal resources, and outside search companies. We do not control a destination's content, fees, availability, or data practices. Its own terms apply after a visitor leaves this website.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Graham County Criminal History or its content partners. They may not be copied, changed, distributed, or used to create derivative material without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for damage arising from use of this website, its content, or a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold us harmless from claims, demands, or proceedings caused by your use of the site or a breach of these terms, including related legal costs.

11. Governing Law

North Carolina law governs these terms. Chapter 132 controls access to records held by North Carolina public agencies, but it does not make this private site a public custodian. Any dispute concerning site use must be brought in a court located in North Carolina.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised. A new version becomes effective when it is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

Access may be limited or ended at any time, for any reason and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If one provision is held invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. The affected language will be narrowed only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
